Searching for video chat apps or dating apps in India throws up long lists that rarely explain how to choose. This page is different. We make Titli, so we will not pretend to be neutral, and we will not rank ourselves first. Instead, here are the questions we would ask about any app, including ours, followed by links to fair comparisons.
Six things to check in any video chat or dating app
1. Safety tools you can actually reach
Can you report and block someone easily, from their profile and from a chat, without hunting through menus? Is there a blocked-accounts list you can manage? Look for named report reasons such as harassment, nudity, fake profile and underage user.
2. Sign-in and accountability
Apps with no sign-in feel easy, but they make it hard to keep banned people out. A phone or Google sign-in adds accountability. Check whether your phone number is shown to others. On Titli, it is not.
3. How moderation works
Vague promises are not enough. Does the app explain how calls and live streams are checked? On Titli, still snapshots may be captured during video calls and reviewed by moderation, with an on-screen indicator and consent at signup. Our safety page explains it in full.
4. Age rules
Does the app clearly say it is for adults only? Titli is 18+ in its Terms, and our community guidelines ban anyone under 18.
5. Languages
An app in your own language is easier to trust and to use. Titli works in nine languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Urdu and Arabic. Some apps also translate messages; on Titli, incoming chat messages can be auto-translated into your language.
6. Cost model and features
Most video chat apps are free to download and charge for some things. Find out what costs money before you start. On Titli, calls use coins, billed per minute, and gifts are bought with coins. Then check the features: random matching, live streams, audio rooms, private messages. See the full list on our features page.

How Titli compares with dating apps
Titli is listed in the Social category on Google Play, not Dating. It is a live video chat app for meeting new people, and video dating, getting to know someone face to face on a call, is one way adults use it. Dating apps are built for finding a partner, usually near you, and they are the better choice if that is your goal. These guides explain the differences fairly.
Tinder
Tinder made the swipe famous. Its help centre says its Face to Face video chat has been deprecated. Titli starts with a video call instead of a swipe. Read the Tinder comparison.
Bumble
Bumble dropped its women-message-first rule in August 2026, as TechCrunch reported, and has built-in video chat after you match. See the Bumble comparison.
Hinge
Hinge is built around prompts and likes on specific photos or answers, and its help centre says in-app voice and video calling was removed. Read the Hinge comparison.
Badoo
Badoo, a Bumble Inc. brand founded in 2006, combines swiping, people nearby and in-app video calls. See the Badoo comparison.
OkCupid
OkCupid matches people using answers to multiple-choice questions and shows a match percentage. Read the OkCupid comparison.
happn
happn shows you people you have crossed paths with in real life; Titli has no city, distance or nearby matching; Explore only filters by country. See the happn comparison.

A note on fairness
We check competitor facts against public sources such as the apps' own sites, news reports and regulators, and we date every comparison. If we could not confirm something, we say so or leave it out. If you spot an error, email genzphilam@gmail.com and we will fix it.
Frequently asked questions
Which video chat app is right for me?
It depends on what you want. If you want to date people near you in person, a dedicated dating app is built for that. For chats with people around the world, a global app may suit you. For meeting new people and video dating in an Indian language, with clear 18+ rules, Titli is worth a look.
Why does Titli require sign-in?
A phone or Google sign-in makes it harder for people who break the rules to come back. Your phone number is not shown to the people you talk to.
Are these comparisons neutral?
No comparison written by an app maker is fully neutral. We disclose that we make Titli, date every page, attribute facts about other apps, and include a section on when the other app is the better fit.
Is Titli available on iPhone?
No. Titli is an Android app on Google Play. Several apps compared here have iOS versions.
Is Titli free?
Titli is free to download. Calls use coins, billed per minute, and gifts are bought with coins.
