Two phones showing the Titli app: a 1-on-1 video call and a live stream with chat messages

Looking for a video dating app worldwide usually means one of two things. Either you live outside India and want to get to know people there, or you live in India and are curious about people from other countries. Both start the same way: a face-to-face conversation on video, before anything else.

Titli can help with that, and it is worth being clear about what it is first. Titli is listed in the Social category on Google Play, not Dating. It is a live video chat app for meeting new people, and video dating, getting to know someone face to face on a video call, is one of the ways adults use it. Titli is only for adults aged 18 and over (see our Terms).

Is Titli a worldwide video dating app?

Partly, and we would rather say so plainly. Titli was built in India, by a company in Noida, and its design reflects that. Explore starts on India, the main payment options are Indian ones such as UPI, and phone sign-in is built around Indian +91 numbers.

What does work from anywhere:

  • Google sign-in. You can create an account with your Google account from any country. You do not need an Indian phone number.
  • Explore by country. Explore has a country filter. It starts on India, and you can switch it to another country to browse people whose profiles are set there. Profiles also show a country flag, so you know where someone is calling from.
  • Nine app languages. English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Urdu and Arabic.
  • Translated messages. Incoming chat messages can be auto-translated into your language, which helps when you and your match do not share a first language.

Titli is on Google Play worldwide, so you can install the Android app from your own country's Play Store. What we cannot promise is that you will find many people from your own country.

You can also use Titli in a phone or computer browser at titliapp.com, with the same Google sign-in.

How video dating across countries works on Titli

There is no swiping and no distance radius. You get to know people by talking.

  1. Sign in with Google and pick your app language.
  2. Fill in your profile honestly: a clear photo, your interests and a line about what you enjoy talking about.
  3. Browse Explore. Use the Popular and New lists, switch the country filter, or search. Open a profile and call or message from there.
  4. Or tap to connect in Match. Match connects you with a member of the opposite gender at random for a 1-on-1 video call. You can add interest filters; there are no country, age or location filters.
  5. Keep in touch in messages. Private messages support text, photos, voice notes and gifts.

Calls are billed per minute in coins to the man. Match tickets give a free match call for a limited number of seconds, which is a gentle way to see whether a conversation clicks. See how Titli video dating works for the full walk-through.

Time zones: the quiet challenge of dating abroad

The hardest part of video dating across borders is rarely language. It is the clock.

India runs on a single time zone, IST, five and a half hours ahead of UTC. That puts it one and a half hours ahead of the Gulf, four and a half to five and a half hours ahead of the UK depending on the season, and nine and a half to thirteen and a half hours ahead of the mainland United States.

A few habits help:

  • Say your local time out loud when you suggest a call. "8 pm my time, which is your morning" avoids most missed calls.
  • Pick overlap windows. Early evening in the UK is late night in India. Late evening on the US East Coast is the next morning in India.
  • Use messages for the in-between. Voice notes are perfect when one of you is asleep.

Language and culture: make it easy for each other

Talking to someone from another country is one of the best parts of video dating, and also where small misunderstandings happen. Some simple courtesies:

  • Ask what they would like to speak. Many people are happy in English; others relax in Hindi, Urdu or Arabic.
  • Let translation help, not lead. Auto-translated messages are useful, but tone can get lost. If something reads oddly, ask before you assume.
  • Be curious, not a tour guide. Ask about their city, food and festivals, and share yours. Avoid stereotypes, even well-meaning ones.
  • Respect different norms. What counts as forward or polite varies. Go slowly and follow the other person's lead.

Stay safe when dating across borders

Distance makes some risks bigger. People you cannot easily verify are more likely to invent stories, and romance scams often involve someone "abroad".

  • Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you met online, whatever the reason. Titli's Community Guidelines do not allow asking for or offering money, payment or meetings outside the app.
  • Video first. Someone who always has an excuse not to turn on the camera is a warning sign.
  • Keep it in the app until you trust someone. Your phone number is never shown to others on Titli.
  • Block and report anyone who pressures you. You can do it from their profile or chat, and reports are reviewed by moderation.

Still snapshots may be captured during video calls and reviewed by moderation for safety, with an on-screen indicator. Read our guide to safe online dating for more.
