A video dating app lets you meet someone on a live video call before you invest days in text messages. You see their face, hear their voice and find out within minutes whether the conversation has any spark. Titli is built around exactly that kind of call. It is a free Android app made in India, and it works in nine languages.
A quick, honest note: Titli is listed in the Social category on Google Play, not Dating. It is a live video chat app for meeting new people, and video dating is one of the main ways adults use it. Everything happens inside the app, on video and in chat.
Titli is only for adults aged 18 and over (see our Terms).
How video dating works on Titli
Step 1: Set up a profile people want to talk to
Sign in with your phone number (a one-time password by SMS) or with Google. Add a clear photo of your face, a few interests and a line or two about yourself. Your phone number is never shown to other people.
Step 2: Meet someone through Match
Open the Match tab and tap Tap to connect. Match connects you with a member of the opposite gender at random and starts a 1-on-1 video call. Before you tap, you can pick interests to match on, so Match leans towards people who share something with you. There are no age or location filters, so treat each call as a chance meeting. Match calls are billed per minute to the man.
Step 3: Or choose someone in Explore
Prefer to look first? Explore shows people in Popular and New lists. You can filter by country, which starts on India, and search. Open a profile to send a message or start a video call.
Step 4: Keep the conversation going
If a call goes well, follow the person. Later you can message them with text, photos, voice notes or gifts, and call again from the chat or your call history. Incoming chat messages can be auto-translated into your language.
Why video first works
Video dating is not for everyone, but it solves several frustrations people have with text-first apps:
- Less guessing. Tone, humour and warmth come through on video in a way they never do in text.
- Faster answers. Ten minutes on a call tells you more than a week of messages.
- Fewer surprises. Someone who looks nothing like their photos, or refuses to show their face at all, is easier to spot.
- More natural flirting. A smile and a shared laugh are easier than crafting the perfect message.
If you are curious about the trade-offs, our article on video dating vs swiping compares the two fairly.
The tools you have during a video date
Every Titli call is between two people. While you talk, you can:
- Turn your mic or camera on and off.
- Use the beauty camera, with a beauty slider, face shaping and colour filters, if you want a softer look.
- Send a virtual gift, bought with coins, if you want to say thanks for a good conversation.
- End the call at any moment, for any reason.
Our 1-on-1 video call page covers the call screen in detail.
What video dating costs on Titli
Downloading Titli is free. Video calls use coins and are billed per minute to the man (a woman pays only if she calls a man directly from his profile), so coins are spent only while the call runs. Match tickets give you a free match call for a limited number of seconds, which is enough for a quick hello. You can also collect free coins through the daily bonus and simple in-app tasks. Coin purchases happen inside the app with UPI, cards or netbanking. See free dating app for a full breakdown.
Safety on a video dating app
Being on camera with someone new needs trust, and trust needs rules:
- Accounts are real. Every account is tied to a phone number or Google sign-in, so removed users cannot simply create a new throwaway profile.
- Block or report in one tap from a profile or chat. Reasons include harassment, nudity, fake profile, spam and underage user.
- Moderation during calls. Still snapshots may be captured during video calls and reviewed by moderation for safety, with an on-screen indicator and your consent at sign-up.
- Clear rules. Our Community Guidelines ban explicit content, harassment, scams and recording others without consent.
For camera-specific advice, such as what to keep out of frame and how to handle pressure, read video call dating safety.
Tips for your first video date
- Face a light source and hold the phone at eye level.
- Use earphones if you share a room.
- Start with an easy question: "What was the best part of your day?"
- Keep personal details, such as your workplace or address, to yourself for now.
- If it is not clicking, say "It was nice talking to you" and end the call. That is perfectly polite.
