Titli is built for talking to new people on video, in live streams and in chat. Meeting strangers online is fun, but it carries real risks. This Safety Centre explains what Titli does to reduce those risks, what you can do yourself, and where to go if something goes wrong.

We want to be straight with you from the start. No app can guarantee your safety, and neither can we. What we can do is set clear rules, give you quick tools to report and block, review what gets reported, and take action against people who break the rules.

Titli is for adults only

Titli is only for adults aged 18 and over (see our Terms). Accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 are removed when reported. If you meet someone who appears to be under 18, please report them with the "underage user" reason.

What Titli does to keep the app safer

Clear Community Guidelines

Our Community Guidelines apply to every profile, call, chat, live stream and audio room. They ban nudity and explicit content, harassment, hate, illegal content, scams and anyone under 18. Accounts that break them can be warned, restricted or removed.

Report and block everywhere

You can block or report anyone from their profile or chat. Report reasons include nudity, fake profile, harassment, spam and underage user. Blocking stops that person from reaching you, and the blocked-accounts list in the app lets you review and manage the people you have blocked.

Call moderation with snapshots

During video calls, the app may capture still snapshots for moderation to review for safety. Moderators use them to help check calls for nudity, harassment and other serious violations, alongside the reports you send. While it is active, you see a "Monitored for safety" indicator on the call screen, and every user agrees to it at signup. Snapshots are kept in private storage, seen only by authorised moderation staff and deleted after a limited period. The details are in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim calls are end-to-end encrypted.

Live moderation by hosts and moderators

Hosts are in charge of their own live. They can remove viewers, block them and ban them from the live. Titli moderators can also step in. They can end a live that breaks the rules and give strikes to the account responsible. Repeated strikes lead to tougher action.

Face verification before going live

Titli has a liveness face check, where you blink, turn your head and smile for the camera. Titli can require this check before someone is allowed to go live. It helps stop fake and stolen accounts from hosting. It does not mean every user or every host has been face-verified, so stay alert either way.

What you can do to stay safe

Protect your personal details

  • Share only what you are comfortable with on your profile. Your phone number is not shown to the people you talk to.
  • Do not share your home address, workplace, college or daily routine with someone you have just met.
  • Think before you show anything on camera that identifies where you live.
  • Remember that the other person could screen-record or photograph a call. If you would not want it saved, do not show it.

Our guide to privacy settings on video chat apps goes into more detail.

Never share OTPs, PINs or bank details

Titli will never ask for your OTP, your UPI PIN, your card details or your bank password, and nobody on the app should either. Anyone who asks for these is trying to take your money. Coins are only bought inside the app, with UPI, cards or netbanking through secure payment gateways, never by sending money to a person.

Watch out for move-off-platform scams

A common trick goes like this. Someone is very friendly, then quickly asks you to continue on another app, a private video link or a phone call. Once you leave Titli, our reporting and moderation tools cannot help you. Some people then record you and demand money, or ask for a "small payment" with a sad story. Stay on Titli until you truly trust someone, and never send money to people you met online. Our tips for safe video chat and our guide to making friends online safely cover more warning signs.

How to report someone

  1. Open the person's profile, or tap the options during the call, chat or live.
  2. Choose Report and pick the reason that matches what happened.
  3. Add any details you can, then submit.
  4. Block the person if you do not want them to contact you again.

Reporting in the app is the fastest route because it links the report to the right account and conversation. You can also email genzphilam@gmail.com.

If you are in danger or have been scammed

If you are in immediate danger, call 112. If you have lost money or are being blackmailed online, call the national cybercrime helpline 1930 as soon as possible and file a complaint on India's cybercrime portal. Do not pay anyone who is threatening you. Keep screenshots and usernames, report the account in Titli, and then contact us at genzphilam@gmail.com.

Deleting your account

You can leave whenever you like. In the app, Settings, then Account, then Delete account deactivates your account and hides your profile immediately. To permanently erase all your data, email genzphilam@gmail.com from your registered phone number or email with the subject "Delete my Titli account". Deletion is completed within 30 days, except data the law requires us to keep, such as payment records. The delete account page has the details.

Frequently asked questions

Is Titli safe to use?

Titli has 18+ rules, report and block tools, call moderation, live moderators and strikes. These reduce risk, but no app can make meeting strangers completely safe. Use the tips on this page and trust your instincts.

Are my video calls monitored?

During video calls, still snapshots may be captured and reviewed by moderation for safety. You see a "Monitored for safety" indicator while this is active, and you agree to it at signup. The Privacy Policy explains how snapshots are stored and deleted.

Will the other person see my phone number?

No. Your phone number is not shown to the people you talk to. You choose what you share on your profile.

What happens after I report someone?

Reports are reviewed against our Community Guidelines. Depending on what happened, the account may be warned, given strikes, restricted or removed. Block the person too if you do not want any more contact.

Is every host face-verified?

No. Titli can require a liveness face check before someone goes live, but that does not mean every host or user has completed one. Stay careful with everyone.

Someone is threatening to share my video. What should I do?
