TrulyMadly alternative: two Indian apps, two different ideas

TrulyMadly and Titli are both made in India for Indian users, so a TrulyMadly alternative search often comes from someone who likes the idea of a homegrown app but wants a different experience. The biggest difference is simple: TrulyMadly is a dating app, and Titli is a social video chat app where video dating is one of the things people do. This page explains both, with sources.

What TrulyMadly is

TrulyMadly launched in 2014. Its founding team included Sachin Bhatia, a co-founder of MakeMyTrip, along with Hitesh Dhingra and Rahul Kumar. The app is run by Crescere Technologies, an Indian company, according to its website.

From the start, TrulyMadly put trust at the centre. In 2014 it introduced a Trust Score that rose as members verified their phone, photo ID and social or professional profiles. Its current website talks about moderation and advertises video chat with people nearby, and it says the app is available on Android, iOS and the web and is rated 18+.

We could not confirm TrulyMadly's current paid plan names from its own site, so we have left them out.

What Titli is

Titli is a live video chat app made in Noida by GenZ Philam Entertainment. It is listed in the Social category on Google Play, not Dating. Adults use it to meet new people and make friends, and video dating, getting to know someone face to face on a call, is one of the ways people use it.

What you can do on Titli:

• Match: tap to connect. Match connects you with a member of the opposite gender at random for a 1-on-1 video call. Interest filters are optional; there are no age or location filters, and Match calls are billed per minute to the man.
• Explore: browse Popular and New lists, filter by country, search, and call or message from a profile.
• Live streams and audio rooms: watch hosts, chat, send gifts, or talk on mic seats without a camera.
• Private messages: text, photos, voice notes and gifts, with incoming messages auto-translated into your language.

TrulyMadly and Titli compared

Verification first, or conversation first

TrulyMadly's verification-first idea makes sense for in-person dating, where you want confidence that someone is who they claim to be before you meet. That is a real strength.

Titli approaches trust differently because people stay inside the app. Every account needs a phone number or Google sign-in, so it is not anonymous, but your number is never shown. Seeing someone on video quickly tells you a lot that photos cannot. Still snapshots may be captured during calls for moderation, with an on-screen indicator, and you can block or report anyone from their profile or chat. Our Community Guidelines do not allow asking for or offering money, payment or meetings outside the app.

Language matters in India

Titli works in nine languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Urdu and Arabic. Incoming chat messages can be auto-translated, so someone writing in Bengali and someone reading in Hindi can still follow each other. If you want to date in Hindi or a regional language, check that any app you choose supports it fully.

Pick TrulyMadly if:
