People have always enjoyed talking to strangers. The uncle on the train who tells you his whole life story. The person in the queue who makes you laugh. Online, the same urge to chat with strangers is what made random chat sites popular. It is also what made many of them unbearable.
This page is honest about one thing up front: Titli is not anonymous. We think that is exactly why stranger chat on Titli works better. Let us explain.
Why we chose accountability over anonymity
Anonymous stranger chat sounds freeing. In practice, it tends to go one way. When nobody can be identified and nobody can be removed for good, the people with the worst intentions have the least to lose. Everyone else leaves.
So on Titli:
- Every account is linked to a sign-in. You join with your phone number (one-time password) or a Google account.
- Your number stays private. People you talk to never see your phone number. You decide what name, photos and details go on your profile.
- Getting removed means something. Because accounts are tied to a sign-in, someone who is banned cannot simply sign up again a minute later as someone new.
This is the balance we aim for. You are private to other members, but accountable to the platform. Strangers know they cannot behave badly without consequences, and that changes how most people act.
The rules everyone agrees to
Titli is only for adults aged 18 and over (see our Terms). Accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 are removed when reported. Our Community Guidelines apply to everyone, in every chat, call and live. They ban:
- Nudity and explicit content.
- Harassment, bullying and threats.
- Hate speech.
- Scams and fraud.
- Illegal content.
- Anyone under 18.
These are not hidden in fine print. If someone breaks them, you can report it, and moderation can act.
How we back the rules up
Rules without enforcement are just suggestions. Titli enforces them in several layers.
Reports and blocks, everywhere
You can block or report anyone from their profile or chat. Report reasons include nudity, fake profile, harassment, spam and underage user. Your blocked accounts sit in one list you can manage.
Call moderation
During video calls, still snapshots may be captured and reviewed by moderation for safety. An indicator on screen shows when this is happening, and you agree to it when you sign up. It is described in our Privacy Policy. This means rule-breaking can be caught even when the other person does not report it.
Live moderation
In live streams, hosts can remove, block and ban viewers. Titli moderators can end a live and give strikes to accounts that break the rules.
Our full safety page covers each of these in more detail.
Text first or video first? Pick your comfort level
Not everyone wants to see a stranger's face straight away, and that is completely fine. Titli gives you both routes.
Starting with text
Private messages let you get a feel for someone before any camera comes on. You can send text, photos, voice notes and gifts. Read receipts and typing indicators show when someone is engaged.
Text-first is a good choice if you:
- Are new to talking with strangers online.
- Want time to think about your replies.
- Prefer to check someone's vibe before a video call.
Starting with video
Video gets you to a real conversation faster. You can see body language, hear tone and spot a fake much sooner. Match on the home tab pairs you with an available member for a 1-on-1 video call in one tap. Our random video chat page explains it step by step.
Video-first suits you if you:
- Find typing slow and awkward.
- Want to judge sincerity quickly.
- Enjoy the surprise of not knowing who comes next.
Many people mix the two. Chat a little, then call. Or call briefly, then continue over messages.
Red flags when you talk to strangers
Accountability lowers risk. It does not remove it. Watch for these warning signs in any stranger chat, on Titli or anywhere else.
- Rushing you off the app. "Give me your WhatsApp" in the first few minutes is a classic move. There is no need.
- Any request for money. Loans, recharges, gift cards, "investment tips". Block and report.
- Pressure to undress or share private photos. This breaks our guidelines. End the call and report it immediately.
- A story that does not add up. Shifting ages, cities or jobs often means a fake profile.
- Asking where you live or work. Early, specific location questions are not small talk.
- Threats or blackmail. Never pay. Save what you can, report the account, and report the crime.

Stranger chat, 18+ and respectful
When people search for "stranger chat 18+", they often mean one of two things. Some want an adults-only space where they will not run into children. Titli is exactly that: adults only, with an "underage user" report reason and action when it is used. Others are looking for explicit content. Titli is not that, and our guidelines ban it.
Titli is a social app for conversation and friendship. That is the only kind of stranger chat we want to host.
Frequently asked questions
Can I chat with strangers on Titli without signing up?
No. You sign in with a phone number or a Google account. This accountability is what lets us remove people who break the rules and keep them out.
Will strangers see my phone number or email?
No. Your sign-in details are not shown to the people you talk to. You choose what appears on your profile.
Is stranger chat on Titli only by video?
No. You can message people first, including voice notes and photos, and move to a video call only if you want to.
What happens after I report someone?
The report goes to Titli moderation with the reason you chose. Moderation reviews it and can remove accounts that break the Community Guidelines. Blocking the person also stops them contacting you.
Is Titli safe for women to chat with strangers?
Titli has adults-only rules, block and report from profiles and chats, and call moderation. No platform can promise complete safety, so we also recommend sharing slowly and never moving off the app with someone you do not trust.
Can I talk to strangers in Hindi or my own language?
You can use the app in nine languages, including Hindi, and chat in whatever language you and the other person share.
