Two phones showing the Titli app: a 1-on-1 video call and a live stream with chat messages

If you are searching for a video dating app in the UAE, chances are you want more than a profile grid. Maybe you moved to Dubai for work and your evenings are quiet. Maybe you want to talk to someone who understands Hindi film songs or Urdu poetry, or simply someone who speaks your language after a long day.

Titli is a live video chat app made in India, and this page explains honestly how it works for someone in the UAE. Titli is listed in the Social category on Google Play, not Dating. It is built for meeting new people on video, and getting to know someone face to face, video dating, is one way adults use it. Titli is only for adults aged 18 and over (see our Terms).

Three languages that matter in the UAE

The Emirates are home to people from all over the world, and many of them speak languages Titli already supports. The app runs in nine languages, and three are especially useful here:

  • Arabic, for Emiratis and Arab residents from across the region.
  • Urdu, for many people from Pakistan and parts of India.
  • Hindi, for many people from India, along with English, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Gujarati.

You choose the app language on the first screen. In private messages, incoming messages can be auto-translated into your language, which helps when a Hindi speaker and an Arabic speaker get talking. Calls are not translated, so many cross-language conversations settle into English.

Signing in from the UAE: use Google

Titli's phone sign-in sends a one-time password by SMS and is built around Indian +91 numbers. If you have a UAE number, the easier route is Google sign-in, which works from any country. Your phone number, if you add one, is never shown to other members.

Titli is on Google Play worldwide, including in the UAE.

You can also open Titli in a phone or computer browser at titliapp.com and sign in with Google.

The time gap with India is small

The UAE is one and a half hours behind India. That small gap is a gift if you want to talk to people back home or to Indians in India: your 9 pm is their 10:30 pm. Evenings overlap well, and weekend afternoons line up almost perfectly.

How video dating works on Titli

Titli has no swiping and no nearby radius. You meet people by talking.

  1. Make a clear, honest profile. A recent photo, a few interests and a line about what you enjoy talking about.
  2. Browse Explore. Explore starts on India; switch the country filter to browse people whose profiles are set in another country, including the UAE. Each profile shows a country flag.
  3. Call or message from a profile. A short message first is polite, especially across cultures.
  4. Or tap to connect in Match, which connects you with a member of the opposite gender at random for a 1-on-1 video call. Interest filters are optional; there are no country, age or location filters.

Calls are billed per minute in coins to the man. Match tickets give a free match call for a limited number of seconds. Coin purchases are built mainly around Indian payment methods, such as UPI, cards and netbanking, so check what works for you inside the app before relying on it.

Keep it respectful: norms matter here

The UAE is a place where many cultures live side by side, and public conduct matters. We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice, but common sense goes a long way:

  • Follow local laws and norms, and your own family's values.
  • Keep calls decent. Titli's Community Guidelines ban explicit content, harassment and hate speech for everyone, everywhere.
  • Do not record anyone without their consent. It is against our rules.
  • Respect a "no". If someone does not want to talk, end the call and move on.
  • Be mindful of shared spaces. Many people share rooms or flats; take calls somewhere private and quiet, and ask the other person if now is a good time.

Safety tips for expats

Being far from home can make anyone a little lonely, and scammers know it.

  • Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you met online. Asking for or offering money, payment or meetings outside the app is not allowed on Titli.
  • Watch for "work visa" or "job offer" stories that end with a fee. Treat them as a red flag.
  • Keep work details private at first, including your company and building.
  • Block or report anyone from their profile or chat. Reports are reviewed by moderation, and still snapshots may be captured during video calls for safety, with an on-screen indicator.
