Bengali in the app

Bengali is one of Titli's nine app languages, alongside English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Urdu and Arabic. Choose it when you install, and the app's menus and buttons are in Bengali. On calls, speak however you like: Bengali, English, Hindi, or the usual Kolkata mix of all three.

• Install and sign in. Titli is a free Android app on Google Play. Sign in with your phone number (one-time password) or Google. Your number is never shown to others.
• Match. Tap Tap to connect to be paired with an available member for a 1-on-1 video call. Interest filters help; Match always pairs you with someone of the opposite gender, and there are no age or location filters.
• Explore. Browse people in Popular and New, filter by country, search, then call or message from a profile.
• Keep talking. If you click, follow each other and continue in private messages with text, photos, voice notes and gifts.

On Match calls, the man pays in coins, minute by minute. Match tickets give a free match call for a limited number of seconds, and the daily bonus and simple tasks give free coins.

A few sensible safety habits

• Keep your para, college and office to yourself until you know someone well.
• Never send money to someone you met online, whatever the story. The Community Guidelines rule out asking for or offering money, payment or meetings outside the app.
• If someone pushes a conversation somewhere you do not want it to go, end the call. Explicit content and harassment are banned.
• Profiles and chats both have block and report options.
